Post Covid-19 vaccination
Post Covid-19 vaccination, individuals may experience some side effects. Most are mild and they usually resolve within a few days.
While some people experience no side effects, a small fraction of people – around one person in every one million people vaccinated— may have a severe allergic reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine.
The most common severe reactions post-vaccination are Immunization stress-related response and anaphylaxis.
Although immunization stress-related response looks a lot like anaphylaxis, it is not as life-threatening as the former. Anaphylaxis is severe and potentially life-threatening.
To manage such cases, WHO advises that all vaccination sites should have a medical doctor or clinical officer with the necessary kit to address such reactions or any other adverse event following vaccination.
